Richard is an experienced property professional with over thirty years of industry experience, including two decades dedicated to development spanning commercial, retail, industrial, and PRS (Private Rental Sector) projects. With a BSc in Urban Estate Management and membership of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, he brings a strong and robust educational foundation to his extensive career in property development.
With a career marked by leadership at senior and board levels, Richard has significant expertise in steering forward-funded, pre-let, and pre-sold projects to successful completion. Notably, he served as a Board Director at Shepherd Developments, a prominent UK-based private family-owned enterprise. In this role, he played a pivotal part in securing and delivering over a million square feet of commercial developments and deploying upwards of £250 million in private equity investments.

He began his career in the 1980s with Saville Gordon Estates in Birmingham, later acquired by Morgan Stanley. Over thirty years, David has held key finance roles in various property investment, residential and regeneration firms
David is an experienced Finance Director with over four decades of expertise in property & development finance. He began his career in the 1980s with Saville Gordon Estates in Birmingham, later acquired by Morgan Stanley. Over thirty years, David has held key finance roles in various property investment, residential and regeneration firms, overseeing the successful delivery of over 5,000 apartments and houses throughout his career.
David's expertise encompasses key financial disciplines vital to the development sector. He excels in optimising project cost control, managing cash flow and treasury functions, building strong relationships with stakeholders and funders, and skilfully navigating budgeting and forecasting. Additionally, he oversees statutory reporting, manages staff and HR affairs, and ensures the accuracy of annual statutory and management accounts. David also serves as a Trustee for a registered charity.
David's extensive experience and multifaceted skill set make him an invaluable asset in driving financial excellence and operational efficiency within property development ventures.
